Corporate Social Investment Manager

at Recruit Digital in Cape Town

My client is one of the biggest retail moguls in South Africa, they have become very well established over decades and are at the top of their game within the retail industry. They are looking for a Corporate Social Investment Manager to join their team in the Northern Suburbs. You will assist the current CSI Manager in managing and implementing corporate social investment projects for the company in order to maintain and build on-going relationships with the communities where the company trades.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • 3 Year Degree or Diploma in Development Studies, Economics, Public Relations or similar.

3 - 5 years experience in the following areas are essential :


  • Social investment and/or community development experience.
  • Within the corporate world, and specifically the international retail landscape.
  • In compliance benefits, including B-BBEE Scorecard, tax exemptions (basic understanding).
  • CSI initiatives aligned to strategy to generate positive PR for the business.
  • Collaboration experience with a wide range of stakeholders, including business units, executive leadership and not-for-profit partners.

3 - 5 years experience in the following area is desirable:


  • 3 Years experience in a retail environment.
  • Sound knowledge of financial and budget principles and experience with payment processing, managing budgets, contracts and agreements.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strategic orientation.
  • Networking skills.
  • Negotiation and problem solving.
  • Sound judgement and decision making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own time and resources.

Job objectives


  • Maintain a keen understanding of publicity for CSI within the corporate world, and specifically the international retail landscape and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Implementation of CSI projects in alignment with the Group's CSI vision and strategy.
  • Maintain and build relationships with partner organisations as well as engaging and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Assist with the procurement process, annual budget process, quarterly reporting and ongoing monitoring of all projects and expenses by applying knowledge of compliance benefits, including B-BBEE Scorecard, tax exemptions etc.
