Job Title:             Digital Media Specialist

Location:             Johannesburg

Reports to:         Managing Director



The Digital Manager oversees the digital marketing strategy for the company.

This role is also responsible for managing and maintaining the primary websites of the company which includes web, mobile and social sites.

This role is responsible for developing and managing digital marketing campaigns by utilising a range of channels with a strong focus on digital strategy will be key to this position.

This role will ensure consistency in all digital channels and cultivating a digital voice.


  • Strong project management & strategy skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr etc.)
  • Experience managing digital campaigns
  • Website optimisation and best practice, a must
  • Experience in ecommerce, SEO, PPC, Email marketing and social media.
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
  • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
  • Have a good knowledge of principles of SEO
  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts & strategy
  • Previous experience in a similar digital marketing role



  • Responsible for planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing;
  • Devising digital strategies to drive online traffic to the company website & generating leads as the main objective;
  • This role will also be responsible for all online media planning and buying which is an in-house function;
  • Tracking conversion rates and making improvements to all website/ s;
  • The manager will also track and report on results and return-on-investment as well as follow a lead from start to finish;
  • Ensuring a very close working relationship with all agencies and media owners;
  • Developing and managing digital marketing campaigns by utilising a range of techniques including paid search, SEO and PPC;
  • Managing online brand and product campaigns to raise brand awareness;
  • Managing all new and re-designs of company website from start to completion;
  • Improving the usability, design, content and conversion of the company’s website/s;
  • Evaluating customer research, market conditions and competitor data;
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with the Call Centre Supervisor to ensure cohesive campaigns to market for the company;
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
