Tech Lead

at Recruit Digital in Centurion

An exciting opportunity for a talented Tech Lead to join a growing ambitious online business based in the Woking area. Being an experienced Tech Lead you will help to establish best-practice and make appropriate architectural and technical approach decisions, leading a team of developers producing new system components and user experiences and enhancements to exiting components and user journeys.

Job Content and Scope:


  • Manage and mentor a team of 2-8 developers.
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching when necessary
  • Develop and manage end-to-end technical projects and ensure on-time delivery in a SCRUM agile environment.
  • Become a primary point of contact for and maintain strong direct relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead design and code reviews and enforce coding standards
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the software on the live site, debugging issues in real-time.
  • Manage live releases during short downtime windows.
  • Design solutions that are compatible with the strategic direction of the company.

Skills and Experience:


  • Experience with various development methodologies; Agile, TDD or Waterfall.
  • Experience with modern microservice and/or web application development techniques and frameworks.
  • Demonstrable talent coding
  • Excellent Windows or Unix/Linux skills.
  • Database design skills (any vendor), preferably MSSQL or Google BigQuery
  • Ability to multi-task and rapidly switch contexts and cope with changing priorities
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience
  • 5+ years of experience building web applications
